# Grail vs FlatPad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Grail at none against FlatPad's 1. FlatPad's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlatPad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Grail asks for nothing beyond the download.

Grail ships an update every 2 months, FlatPad every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
