# HelloNovel vs FunShorts

The clearest difference is review sentiment: HelloNovel at 50% against FunShorts's 11%. HelloNovel also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). FunShorts's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (439 vs 40). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HelloNovel sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and FunShorts sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HelloNovel holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FunShorts has 439 ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two.
