# TickNotes vs TRAIL

The clearest difference is ads: TickNotes at none against TRAIL's shown. TRAIL's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TickNotes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and TRAIL sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TickNotes ships an update every 9 days, TRAIL weekly. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
