# Event Countdown vs MaxiWidget

The clearest difference is ads: Event Countdown at none against MaxiWidget's shown. Event Countdown also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Event Countdown sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and MaxiWidget sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Event Countdown ships an update every 2 days, MaxiWidget every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
