# Firefly vs Day8 VPN

Firefly and Day8 VPN are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Both are free to download. Firefly sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Day8 VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Firefly ships an update fortnightly, Day8 VPN every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
