# Velocomp Tracker vs Stepz

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Stepz at 100% against Velocomp Tracker's 20%. Stepz also leads on price (Free vs $0.99) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). Velocomp Tracker's advantage is rating (2.6 vs 1.0) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 7 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Stepz is free to download; Velocomp Tracker costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Velocomp Tracker holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Velocomp Tracker has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Velocomp Tracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of Stepz's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Velocomp Tracker ships an update every 4 weeks, Stepz every 7 months. Both last shipped on October 8, 2026.
