# Idea Note vs MindBranch

The clearest difference is update cadence: MindBranch at every 3 weeks against Idea Note's every 4 months. Idea Note's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Idea Note sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and MindBranch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Idea Note ships an update every 4 months, MindBranch every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
