# Flight vs Flight Init

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flight Init at every 2 weeks against Flight's every 3 months. Flight Init also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flight sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per year and Flight Init sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 6 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flight ships an update every 3 months, Flight Init every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
