# Secure Browser for TOR Network vs StarVPN

The clearest difference is ads: Secure Browser for TOR Network at none against StarVPN's shown. Secure Browser for TOR Network also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 89%). StarVPN's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Browser for TOR Network sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and StarVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StarVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 13 and 14 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Secure Browser for TOR Network's written reviews are positive against 89% of StarVPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secure Browser for TOR Network ships an update weekly, StarVPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
