# grug vs Museum Diary

The clearest difference is ratings volume: grug at 3.4K against Museum Diary's 3. grug also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

grug holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: grug has 3.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of grug's written reviews are positive against 100% of Museum Diary's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

grug ships an update weekly, Museum Diary every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
