# Speakwise vs Looma

The clearest difference is rating: Speakwise at 4.5 against Looma's 3.7. Speakwise also leads on ratings volume (89 vs 6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). Looma's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 53%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speakwise sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days and Looma sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speakwise holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speakwise has 89 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Speakwise's written reviews are positive against 67% of Looma's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speakwise ships an update every 9 days, Looma every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
