# MDWriter vs Raw Text Editor

The clearest difference is ads: Raw Text Editor at none against MDWriter's shown. Raw Text Editor also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MDWriter sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.49 per month and Raw Text Editor sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
