# EpicDraft vs Free Writing

The clearest difference is update cadence: Free Writing at every 4 days against EpicDraft's every 3 weeks. EpicDraft's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EpicDraft sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 3 months and Free Writing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EpicDraft ships an update every 3 weeks, Free Writing every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
