# Mind vs Detective Fred

The clearest difference is rating: Detective Fred at 5.0 against Mind's 4.6. Mind's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (48 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mind sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Detective Fred sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Detective Fred holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mind has 48 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mind ships an update every 6 days, Detective Fred every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
