# Cat's Library vs mekuru

The clearest difference is ads: mekuru at none against Cat's Library's shown. mekuru also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Cat's Library's advantage is ratings volume (43 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cat's Library sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and mekuru sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

mekuru holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cat's Library has 43 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Cat's Library's written reviews are positive against 84% of mekuru's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cat's Library ships an update every 4 days, mekuru every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
