# LayR vs Modus

The clearest difference is ads: LayR at none against Modus's shown. Modus's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 days). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LayR sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Modus sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LayR ships an update every 9 days, Modus every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
