# Notes vs Yap

The clearest difference is update cadence: Notes at every 8 days against Yap's every 5 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Yap sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notes ships an update every 8 days, Yap every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
