# Total Steps vs Stepping

The clearest difference is update cadence: Stepping at every 3 days against Total Steps's weekly. Stepping also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Total Steps sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Stepping sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Total Steps ships an update weekly, Stepping every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
