# GPS Explorer vs TrackHound

The clearest difference is update cadence: TrackHound at every 4 days against GPS Explorer's monthly. GPS Explorer's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Explorer sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and TrackHound sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GPS Explorer ships an update monthly, TrackHound every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
