# Smart Science vs Kancil

The clearest difference is update cadence: Kancil at every 9 days against Smart Science's monthly. Smart Science's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Science sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Kancil sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Science ships an update monthly, Kancil every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
