# SQL Prep vs Python Starter

The clearest difference is update cadence: SQL Prep at every 4 days against Python Starter's every 10 days. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SQL Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Python Starter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SQL Prep ships an update every 4 days, Python Starter every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
