# iStockfolio vs ExpenseElf

The clearest difference is ads: iStockfolio at none against ExpenseElf's shown. ExpenseElf's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 10 days) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.4). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iStockfolio sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and ExpenseElf sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iStockfolio ships an update every 10 days, ExpenseElf every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
