# Drynosaur vs Mode Zero

The clearest difference is rating: Drynosaur at 4.8 against Mode Zero's 3.4. Drynosaur also leads on ratings volume (462 vs 5). Mode Zero's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drynosaur sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Mode Zero sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Drynosaur holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drynosaur has 462 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Drynosaur's written reviews are positive against 67% of Mode Zero's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Drynosaur ships an update fortnightly, Mode Zero every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
