# Logbook vs InstantLog

The clearest difference is ads: Logbook at none against InstantLog's shown. InstantLog's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Logbook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and InstantLog sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Logbook ships an update every 5 months, InstantLog every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
