# Coax vs Cinecase

The clearest difference is monetization model: Coax at free against Cinecase's free with in-app purchases. Coax also leads on ratings volume (41 vs 5) and device support (5 vs 3). Cinecase's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly) and rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coax sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Cinecase sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cinecase holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coax has 41 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Coax's written reviews are positive against 75% of Cinecase's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Coax ships an update weekly, Cinecase every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
