# Time Pencil vs Tokiwa

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tokiwa at every 2 days against Time Pencil's every 3 weeks. Time Pencil's advantage is device support (4 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Pencil sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Tokiwa sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Time Pencil ships an update every 3 weeks, Tokiwa every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
