# BrainFlow vs MindStream

The clearest difference is update cadence: BrainFlow at weekly against MindStream's every 5 weeks. MindStream's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrainFlow sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and MindStream sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BrainFlow ships an update weekly, MindStream every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
