# Second vs Nook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Nook at none against Second's 1. Nook also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Second's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Second sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Nook asks for nothing beyond the download.

Second ships an update every 4 days, Nook every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
