# SpeechLP vs Sona

The clearest difference is rating: Sona at 5.0 against SpeechLP's 4.4. Sona also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). SpeechLP's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SpeechLP sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $15.00 per month and Sona sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sona holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpeechLP has 76 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of SpeechLP's written reviews are positive against 100% of Sona's.

SpeechLP ships an update every 4 days, Sona every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
