# Retrotype vs Citely

The clearest difference is update cadence: Citely at every 4 days against Retrotype's every 3 months. Retrotype's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Retrotype sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Citely sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Retrotype ships an update every 3 months, Citely every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
