# Security & VPN vs VPNET

The clearest difference is rating: Security & VPN at 5.0 against VPNET's 4.1. Security & VPN also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). VPNET's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (18 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Security & VPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPNET has 18 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Security & VPN ships an update weekly, VPNET fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
