# Aurora Forecast vs AmberMap

The clearest difference is chart position: Aurora Forecast at #109 against AmberMap's unranked. AmberMap's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aurora Forecast sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and AmberMap sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aurora Forecast ships an update monthly, AmberMap fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
