# FilmMeter vs Phaos

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Phaos at none against FilmMeter's 4. FilmMeter's advantage is ratings volume (64 vs 5) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FilmMeter sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Phaos asks for nothing beyond the download.

Phaos holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FilmMeter has 64 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FilmMeter ships an update every 2 days, Phaos every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
