# CityPro vs Understudy

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: CityPro at none against Understudy's 1. CityPro also leads on ratings volume (28 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). Understudy's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Understudy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. CityPro asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for CityPro against 5.0 for Understudy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CityPro has 28 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of CityPro's written reviews are positive against 100% of Understudy's.

CityPro ships an update every 3 weeks, Understudy weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
