# PDF vs PDFex

The clearest difference is update cadence: PDFex at every 4 days against PDF's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and PDFex sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PDF ships an update every 2 months, PDFex every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
