# RoutineGuide vs NextStep

The clearest difference is update cadence: NextStep at every 3 weeks against RoutineGuide's every 2 months. NextStep also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). RoutineGuide's advantage is device support (4 vs 2). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RoutineGuide sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and NextStep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RoutineGuide ships an update every 2 months, NextStep every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
