# StarForge vs zenScroll

The clearest difference is monetization model: zenScroll at freemium against StarForge's subscription. zenScroll also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). StarForge's advantage is ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StarForge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and zenScroll sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for StarForge against 5.0 for zenScroll. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StarForge has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

StarForge ships an update every 3 months, zenScroll every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 3, 2026.
