# Shinka vs Gaston

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gaston at every 3 days against Shinka's fortnightly. Shinka's advantage is iOS requirement (16.2 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shinka sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Gaston sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $22.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shinka ships an update fortnightly, Gaston every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
