# Music Coast vs Write.X

The clearest difference is monetization model: Music Coast at free with in-app purchases against Write.X's subscription. Write.X's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Music Coast sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month and Write.X sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Music Coast ships an update every 3 weeks, Write.X fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
