# Lore Machine vs StoryLoop

The clearest difference is rating: Lore Machine at 4.7 against StoryLoop's 4.0. Lore Machine also leads on ratings volume (12 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). StoryLoop's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 78%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lore Machine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and StoryLoop sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lore Machine holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lore Machine has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Lore Machine's written reviews are positive against 100% of StoryLoop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lore Machine ships an update fortnightly, StoryLoop every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
