# Lore Machine vs KAI

Lore Machine and KAI both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 73% of Lore Machine's written reviews are positive against 7% of KAI's. KAI's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 14) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lore Machine sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month and KAI sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Lore Machine against 4.5 for KAI. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KAI has 1.2K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of Lore Machine's written reviews are positive against 7% of KAI's.

Lore Machine ships an update fortnightly, KAI every 6 days. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
