# Lore Machine vs Secret Chapters

The clearest difference is ads: Lore Machine at none against Secret Chapters's shown. Secret Chapters's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lore Machine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Secret Chapters sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lore Machine ships an update fortnightly, Secret Chapters every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
