# Lore Machine vs ARC

The clearest difference is ads: ARC at none against Lore Machine's shown. Lore Machine's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lore Machine sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month and ARC sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lore Machine holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Lore Machine's written reviews are positive against 75% of ARC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lore Machine ships an update fortnightly, ARC every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
