# Stellas vs ShadowWrite

The clearest difference is update cadence: Stellas at every 2 weeks against ShadowWrite's every 3 weeks. Stellas also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stellas sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and ShadowWrite sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stellas ships an update every 2 weeks, ShadowWrite every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
