# MaskNote vs KanaNote

The clearest difference is update cadence: MaskNote at every 4 days against KanaNote's every 10 days. MaskNote also leads on iOS requirement (15.5 vs 18.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MaskNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and KanaNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MaskNote ships an update every 4 days, KanaNote every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
