# Float Cam vs BlackOut

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BlackOut at 50% against Float Cam's 0%. BlackOut also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). Float Cam's advantage is rating (3.0 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Float Cam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and BlackOut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Float Cam holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Float Cam's written reviews are positive against 50% of BlackOut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Float Cam ships an update every 2 weeks, BlackOut every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
