# PrepGo vs CourseCat

The clearest difference is rating: CourseCat at 5.0 against PrepGo's 4.3. CourseCat also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10). PrepGo's advantage is ratings volume (315 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PrepGo sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. CourseCat asks for nothing beyond the download.

CourseCat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PrepGo has 315 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PrepGo ships an update every 9 days, CourseCat fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
