# StrideLog vs StepMelon

The clearest difference is update cadence: StepMelon at every 5 days against StrideLog's every 4 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StrideLog sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and StepMelon sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StrideLog ships an update every 4 weeks, StepMelon every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
