# StrideLog vs Step

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Step at none against StrideLog's 1. Step also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StrideLog sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Step asks for nothing beyond the download.

StrideLog ships an update every 4 weeks, Step every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
