# Annulus vs Illusion Connect

The clearest difference is rating: Illusion Connect at 4.9 against Annulus's 2.8. Illusion Connect also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (66% vs 28%). Annulus's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Annulus sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Illusion Connect sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Illusion Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Illusion Connect has 1.2K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 28% of Annulus's written reviews are positive against 66% of Illusion Connect's.

Annulus ships an update every 5 days, Illusion Connect every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
